wow , I don't even know where being with this book. I really didn't know where this book was going to go after the good ending of second book . However Ashley Claudy, delivered . I just don't know if I could handle if Gage and Reagan had to face anymore . I was a mess during this book . I wanted to know who Shadow was , I wanted to.know when the FBI would come in , what happened to Reagan father. I love how.Claudy brought in pretty much everyone she mentioned in the book in some way . Cherry was a character I wanted to hate , but I knew she would end up playing a big part and man did she . I really love this book series!!!!I've read all three of them in record time,not being able to put them down!This is the last part of the trilogy,and it was a great sequel to the previous book that kept me on the edge of my seat all the time!!! If you want a bit darker adult book,then these are for you!-)
This story pulled every crazy emotion out of me. Gage and Ragen have to fight not just outside sources but each other and their selves to be together. The journey is harrowing and crazy but the love they share is beautiful ... Now to make it work and get out of this alive and together in one piece!
I loved this series and couldn't put it down down. I thought Reagan would learn more about her father through Rusnak or Nicolai. Only thing I didn't like it was the ending. It needed more after such suspense in the warehouse and making it out to just end. Do they leave New York and back to Baltimore to be near Dex or back to Vegas to make a home and train for the title. Just to open ended and I like closure not an abrupt ending.
I really have a problem with Reagan in all the books. She is first,an idiot to the tenth degree! She has done nothing but cause trouble for everyone she meets, especially Gage. His brother Dexter was also a bone of contention as well. Gage should have ran away I stead of Rea and never looked back. Every problem she had, she bought on herself, especially losing the baby. If she would have been home lie he told her, she would not have been in the accident. Reagan is a cancer eating away at everyone in her life.
Finished the trilogy. Quite a ride. I don't agree with the readers who said there didn't need to be a third book. This was relevant, but there are so many questions whose answers might lead to contrivances.
There were also lots of editorial and grammatical errors in this book. Jarring, to say the least.
Biggest plus for me? Waiting on baited breath for the ending. Wondering what was going to happen. Wondering if they'd have an ending at all.
I loved the 1st 2 books and couldn't wait for this 1. Unfortunately I have mixed feeling about it. This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I did like the story but it was hard to read sometimes cause I loved them. Their downs were tough. I'm Glad Regan was able to find herself again tho. I felt the ending was just ok, it was nothing special. After, what I thought was a great ending in book 2 this ending was just meh. Overall, I just didn't see the need for this book.
Given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book was a total rollercoaster. I was back and forth between being proud and happy for the characters, to wanting to scream at them for falling into the same bad patterns. I’m going to comment on Regan and Gage separately first, then them as a couple. Regarding Regan, I am so happy with how far she has come. From the girl we first met in “Outside the Ropes” who just existed as she drifted through life, to the young woman we see in this book who is fighting with everything she has to save the life she’s built.
Now onto Gage. There were times in this book, that I really wanted Gage from “Outside the Ropes" back. I missed the seemingly put together, successful, and strong male that he was in that book. I was so disappointed in him for a majority of this book, how just when it seemed like things were going good for him and Regan, he managed to get sucked back into his past, deeper than ever. And the decisions he made and actions he took to survive and cope in that life broke my heart. At the same, I applaud how different this made Gage, how real it made him, he’s someone who is flawed, who has moments of weakness and makes mistakes, instead of the perfect cookie cutter alpha male, so often seen in books today.
When it comes to Regan and Gage together, I’ve been rooting for them since the first book. But honestly, no matter how much I wanted them together, and how proud I was of Regan’s inner growth that led to how much she fought for them, there were times that I just wanted to see her give Gage an ultimatum and if he couldn’t be honest with her, take the actions needed to separate himself and ultimately them from that life, then Regan needed the strength to pack up her things and leave. The back and forth of Gage keeping things from Regan, her freaking out, forgiving him, just to have the same issues and fight arise days later was so maddening.
Overall, I decided to give this story 4 stars for two reasons. The story started off a little slow to me, however by midway through the book the pace and intrigue really started to pick up. Secondly, was due to the repeating back and forth arguments between the characters. Gage is a smart guy and I was so exasperated by his inability to get away from that life and his lack of honesty, no matter how many times Regan proved that his secrets wouldn’t scare her off, he still kept her in the dark. I just wanted them to be able to communicate with each other and work together, because as the previous books showed us, Regan and Gage are at their best when they’re on the same page.
All in all, it’s a credit to Ms. Claudy’s writing that she has drawn me into these characters and their lives so deeply to elicit such a mixture of emotions while reading this book and I have truly enjoyed all the twists and turns through the whole series and would highly recommend it.
